EPP Theory Seminar: Enrico Herrmann: "dlog-forms: from the Grassmannian structure of N=4 super-Yang-Mills to the spacetime geometry of Feynman integrals"
In this talk I will review some of the developments in reformulating perturbative Quantum Field Theory in terms of novel geometric structures. Concretely, I am going to discuss how the dual formulation of scattering amplitudes in planar N=4 sYM theory in terms of on-shell diagrams, the positive Grassmannian and its uplift into the amplituhedron naturally leads to the appearance of differential forms with logarithmic singularities. In certain cases, these dlog-forms directly translate into specific Feynman loop integrals. I will discuss the special properties associated to these dlog integrals and introduce some tools to integrate these forms directly. Furthermore, I will discuss how Feynman integrals in dlog form lead to simplified differential equations.
